World Of Warcraft Fishing Profession Guide DateTime:7/21/2010 10:28:07 AM
Some WoW professions complement each other perfectly. The Cooking profession and Fishing profession are great examples of this. It is relatively straight forward to level up in both professions at the same time, with the added benefit of allowing you to earn more gold, whilst in the process.Once you have completed the necessary training you will have to go and buy the essential tools required for this role i.e. a fishing rod and a stack of shiny bauble lures; these special lures add +25 to your fishing skill.By this stage you have become somewhat of a skilled fisherman and cook. To skill up your Cooking skill to 175 you need to get 80 - 100 Bristle Whisker Catfish, from the river, to the East of Tarren Mill. You should start to fish in Stonebull Lake, having already added a shiny bauble lure to your fishing rod. The +25 skill awarded when you purchased the fishing equipment will aid your fish catching capabilities.Having hooked the 60 Brilliant Smallfish you will need to dig out the recipe you bought earlier. Prepare a nice warm fire, sit back and prepare the recipe. Alternatively you can always walk back to Bloodhoof Village and use Harn Longcast's stove.Once you reach level fifty you can start to prepare the Longjaw Mud Snappers, that you caught earlier, using the recipe bought from Harn Longcast. Okay now you need to travel to Orgrimmar city and fish the pond, located near to Lumark, the fishing trainer. You are fishing for Longjaw Mud Snappers. You will find that you have a lower drop rate and a bigger success rate.
Bristle Whisker Catfish is the next species of fish that you will be aiming to catch. Before you can do this however you will need to purchase the recipe for this dish from Derak Nightfall, the Fishing supply merchant. He resides in Tarren Mill in Hillsbrad. For converts to the game it is worth noting that the spot that you choose to fish, does not make a difference to the rate at which you rise up the levels. You can choose to spend your time fishing in only one spot if you want. This does however have its disadvantages, including boredom. You are given the chance to fish in lakes, rivers, the sea or anywhere you want, if you are just trying to level in Fishing and not both professions. This is because you no longer reliant upon catching particular fish species for your Cooking dishes. Many of the fish only live in one place.Let me now describe exactly what you need to do to level up in as short a time span as possible. Please bear in mind that I have made the assumption that you have decided to level up in Cooking & Fishing at the same time as a member of the Horde Faction.
